Su-RE CONFERENCE 2019 Building Sustainability Ready Exporters for Strategic Advantage

Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) organized its first Sustainability-Ready Exporters Conference (Su-RE Conference) on 19th November in partnership with the International Organization for Migration (IOM).

The conference, which took place at the MATRADE Exhibition and Convention Centre in Kuala Lumpur, served as a knowledge exchange platform for 500 participants from a diverse range of industries such as manufacturing, construction, food products, oil & gas, energy, and services.

The conference was officiated by Minister of International Trade & Industry, Datuk Darell Leiking who was accompanied by MATRADE chairman, Tan Sri Dr Halim Mohammad.

Initiatives were being taken to strengthen Malaysian companies' footprint in conventional markets namely Asean, China and United States, as well as emerging markets such as the Middle East, Central Asia, Latin America and Africa.

The panel sessions during the event were framed in Malaysia’s current context and recent policy developments in the country. The first session featured subject matter experts on sustainability practices in business and human rights while the second panel session served as an experience-sharing platform for local business leaders who have adopted and implemented sustainability practices in their respective companies.
